Under slogan "Renewed Energies represent a basic resource for economic development and maintaining environment" the Industrial Research and Development Committee held - energy and environment research center which affiliates to MIM a specialized workshop on renewed energies with the attendance of several specialists and researchers in this field. Dr. Hammody Abass Hameed MIM Advisor reviewed what are renewed energies and their specifications, in addition to solar energy features in comparison with other energies where he stressed that the used techniques in the solar energy are considered simple in comparison with the other used techniques as well as providing environmental safety element considering that solar energy is a clean one that doesn't pollute sphere so it gain special position in this field so the solar energy can be reached to remote area with out using electric wires its economic visibility lies in its long ages that may reach to (15) years in heat applications and (25) years for electric ones. Dr. Hammody referred to the wind energy considering it as known since old ages as one of dynamic energy resources that is was used in grains milling and water pumping, Mr. Adviser reviewed further some developed countries renewed energy experiences and the possibility of benefiting from that energy, stating that there are endeavors to convert Industrial Research and Development Committee from self finance to central funding and that the Council of Ministers was requested in this condition. On his part Mr. Majid Hassan Energy Research Centre Chairman stressed on the renewed energy importance and utilization and the necessity of developing and activating its utilization in building new Iraq. During the workshop some products which operate on renewed energy were produced by some of MIM state companies were shown.
