H.E. Mr. Fawzi Hariri, Minster of Industry and Minerals called upon state companies to exert more efforts to contribute to participate actively in building and construction that Iraq witnesses.
Presiding over a meeting for state companies which affiliate to construction, chemical and food stuff and drugs sectors, H.E. Mr. Minister stated that the current stage Iraq passes through, necessitate all of us to be gathered and exploit all available possibilities to upraise production march of its companies plants calling for creation of innovation for personnel in industrial sectors, stressing the necessity of performing the required level to execute MIM plan.
Referring to MIM vision in achieving its objectives in increasing production value at 43% in comparison with 2008 plan through activating the marketing and promotion of sales by rehabilitation of productive plants.
MIM information bureau explained that the meeting, which was attended by MIM Deputy Ministers, Advisors, General inspector and members of Opinion Board, discussed MIM and state companies' achievements and expected vision on the investment budget and the companies' capabilities of marketing their products in addition to discussion of obstacles and troubles that MIM faces.
The meeting also tackled in numbers with companies' performance evaluation for 2009 first half and the economic feasibility studies that are realized from production process and the effort exerted by general directors of companies.
Engineer Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ani Deputy Minister, supervisor of companies' affairs, confirmed that there are successes in numbers achieved by companies that contributed to increase their realized incomes in addition to reduce production costs, calling upon general directors of companies to exert more efforts to achieve MIM objectives and plans.
The Economic Advisor reviewed MIM vision to diversify national economy in view of MIM short, medium and long term plan so as to prepare senior official for companies so that MIM will be able to achieve opportunities for building and construction that Iraq witnesses including rehabilitation of productive companies and sectors shedding lights over MIM vision on functioning its companies in high efficiency, emphasizing MIM readiness for sating up new system for economic and administrative performance evaluation.
Mentioning to the companies works and plans aiming to define priorities of the stage through preparing plans and strategic competition and analysis studies for next stage.
Mr.Adel Kareem Deputy Minister for development and investment affairs pointed out to H.E. Mr. minister and other senior officials efforts for getting salary differences for companies personnel, stating that more efforts are necessarily to exert by companies to raise up their production capacities.
Afterwards Mr.Salim Bolus MIM General Inspector reviewed the main points of negative phenomena defined by his office team who visited companies' sites, referring to other positive indicators in defining the violations and instructions including tenders, contracts and awardings to companies, characterizing administrative corruption aspects and procedures to be taken to prevent such negative phenomena as falsification of certificates and contracts.
Afterwards general directors reviewed for companies, of chemical, constructive, food stuff sectors, the problems may face and the prepared plan to rehabilitate many companies of MIM according to investment plan and profiles 2008-2009 for the plants concerned.
MIM will organized the day after a meeting for textile, engineering and industrial utilities sectors to get acquainted with their achieved results and to evaluate their performance during first half of 2009.
