The State Company for Phosphate, one of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals State Companies succeeded on January, 2010, in producing (11600) tons of phosphate fertilizers. A spokesman at the company clarified to MIM information bureau that among the produced quantities there were (9950) tons of (10-18-0) complex fertilizer and (1650) ton of (T.S.P) concentrated three concentrated phosphate fertilizer while the marketed fertilizer to the Ministry of Agriculture - State Company for Agricultural Supplies which affiliates to the Ministry of Agriculture through the same period was (16.648) ton of (10-18-0) complex fertilizer and marketed 533 liter of (N.P.K) (Nitrogen, Phosphate, Potassium) liquid potas complex fertilizer. On the other hand the company engineering and technical staffs continuing in rehabilitating its plants at performance rate (78.7%) and the up grading and modernizing rate for its plants was (66%), stating that the company rehabilitates second line at concentrate sulfur acid plant through tackling erosion and damages of the line, sulfur burning fern, heat exchangers, gas filters, acid towers and liquid sulfur tanks. The State company for Phosphate is considered as a pioneer in producing fertilizers and is a basic company in support Ministry of Agriculture and Iraq Agricultural Sector where MIM is pays great attention for this industry to be among pioneer industries in advanced countries in Urea, Ammonia and Phosphate fertilizers industry, the company currently produces (37) million feet / day while production quantity with in the next period will be (75) million feet / day.
